DO Empordà
Empordà is both a mountainous and seaside area. It is in the north east of Catalonia (100 km from Barcelona, there is also an international airport with flights to and from some European destinations).
Vines need to grow low on the ground to prevent the Tramuntana, a strong north wind, to harm them. Tramuntana is a distinctive trait of the region and defines the personality and the way of life of its people. There is genious in this region, legend says because of the wind, that has produced great writers, painters, chefs, musicians and, of course, also winemakers.
The most representative wines of the region are the rosées: fruity, fresh, moderate and flavorful.
